Produced in the Appenzell region of northeast Switzerland. This mountainous area is rich with meadows that provides an optimum basis for the robust, farm-fresh, rBST-free cow’s milk from which Appenzeller® cheese is made. During the 3 months that the wheels of Appenzeller mature, the master cheesemaker regularly applies a secret herbal brine that seeps through the rind and gives the cheese its uniquely zesty flavor. |
